Mobbing Seminar Series: A series of 3 one hour seminars based on the latest research in the area of bullying and mobbing. Church specific application is included. The topics covered include causes of mobbing, consequences to those victimized and the church, prevention and recovery. These can be presented as three separate seminars or one 3 1/2 hour seminar. Church Bullying Research:
There has been a significant amount of research over the past 30 years about bullying in schools and workplaces. Unfortunately that is not the case for church bullying. Recently Steve Vensel researched mobbing in the church. The following links are to information found on his website.
Individuals who bully in churches or initiate mobbing may be engaged in ‘affinity fraud’ where they actually target Christian communities. The following article discusses this.
Affinity Fraud: Individuals with psychopathic traits are often attracted to affinity groups – religious, political or social groups of people who share common values, beliefs or interests. The collective trust that members of these groups have in one another and their common belief system provides a perfect cover for the person with psychopathy. Read more…
